We are always looking for volunteers to help us prepare and serve meals. Our dining area is the parking lot of St. George Orthodox Church, where we set up tables throughout the lot to serve the meal and distribute toiletries, clothes and other items. As our guests dine, we minister to their physical and spiritual needs.
We need volunteers to help us sort and organize clothes. Our clothes closest for the homeless is located in the Downtown Baptist Church (110 E. Pine St.) just two blocks south of St. George Orthodox Church. We would be delighted to set up a time for you or your group to come help us organize clothes. You, your school, church or organization can sponsor a shoe drive to help support our Hopeful Soles Ministry. There are many ways to contribute your time and talents to this worthwhile ministry. Donations
A donation of $35 will buy a pair of steel toe boots for a man who desires to work, but cannot because he does not have the proper footwear. Just $50 a month could buy over 275 lbs. of rice or beans through our local food bank. It could also buy a monthly bus pass to help a newly employed homeless man or woman get to and from work until that first paycheck comes in. A one-time gift of $500 could help us purchase shelving and racks to finish constructing our clothes closet, where many of Orlando’s homeless receive their clothing. A one-time gift of $1,000 could help shelter a family of five, six or even seven for six weeks, while we help the family find permanent shelter or employment.
The Ephraim Project does not receive any government funding. The ministry is supported solely through cash and in-kind donations from local churches, humanitarian service organizations, businesses and individuals.
