Honored by City Officials
In recent months, Addis Ababa city officials began receiving complaints regarding the work of God’s Love in Action in the city slums. Some critics accused the organization of “selling the Gospel” by providing aid to the poor, questioning the motives behind the outreach efforts. These concerns prompted city authorities to launch a thorough investigation into the group’s activities and our impact on vulnerable communities.
After an in-depth review, officials found that God’s Love in Action operated with transparency and genuine compassion. Recognizing the significant positive difference the organization made in the lives of the city’s most destitute residents, the city ultimately awarded us a Certificate of Recognition for its outstanding service. In a public ceremony, the program director, Hasset Yilma, was honored for her dedication and leadership, highlighting the city’s appreciation for the organization’s commitment to uplifting those most in need.
